Adult artists will have the opportunity to capture beautiful Clarksville, Tennessee’s most unique and scenic features in their Plein Air paintings. Three top prizes and two or three honorable mentions will be awarded in an exhibition on the final evening of the event, Saturday, October 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Community Fun Quick Draw
Saturday, October 16, 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
(All artists, whether registered for the 2Rivers Paint-Out or not,
are encouraged to participate in this 90-minute quick paint competition.)
To be judged or enter the exhibit, a $35 entry fee is required with your application (up to 2 entries). Additional entries carry a fee of $10 per entry. Payment is accepted by check or online at www.artsandheritage.us via PayPal. (Checks should be made payable to “AHDC.” Artists will be charged $15 on returned checks.)
You must be a registered participant in order to exhibit in the show! The deadline for participation sign-up is October 8, 2021.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., October 15 and October 16, at the Downtown Artists Cooperative, 96 Franklin Street.
An official ID stamp will be placed on the backs of canvases and/or other grounds
Artists are requested to paint in the assigned area during the two-day event.
Painting locations and subjects are limited to Clarksville city limits, as shown in the map provided at check-in.
Artists may display two paintings from the event during the exhibition on Saturday, October 16.
Artwork size must be at least 5” on one side and no more than 20” on one side.
Artwork must have wire hangers (no saw-tooth hangers).
Accepted Media: Almost all Painting and Drawing Media. Not Accepted: Crafts, Photography, Computer-Generated Art, or Prints/Giclee.
Submit final entries by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, to be juried and exhibited.
All work must be framed or matted for easier handling, since paintings may be wet. However, the 2Rivers Identifying Stamp on the back of finished works must be clearly visible to be eligible for judging.
All artwork must be picked up at the end of the exhibition on October 16. Please inform us in writing if someone other than yourself will be picking up your artwork(s). We are unable to provide storage — no exceptions.
Art for sale is strongly encouraged.
Art must be labeled on the back with name of artist, title, size and price. All work must be framed or matted for easier handling with wire hangers (not saw tooth hangers). We will strive to hang as many works as possible and all works will be displayed in an appealing way.
AHDC reserves the right to use all art for promotional purposes.
Individual artists are responsible for insuring their own art.
AHDC receives 10% commission on sales of guest artists. In the event of a sale, checks will be made out to AHDC, and buyer may take art at point of sale. Artists will be paid 90% of the sale. Artists are responsible for paying the sales tax.
Reception and Awards Ceremony
A reception and exhibition will be held on Saturday October 16, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The award ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Past jurors have included distinguished artists and Austin Peay State University professors and professors emeriti, Max Hochstetler, Dr. Jim Diehr, Bettye Holte, Billy Renkl, Susan Bryant, Ken and Melody Shipley, and Dr. Dixie Webb.
Community Fun Quick-Draw Competition
This 90-minute quick-paint competition, held on Saturday, October 16, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., is open to any artist. Registration is $15 and can be in advance or on the day of the competition. A $50 first-place prize will be awarded at the closing reception.
