About the event
Every piece in this exhibit was painted outdoors, on site — no studio, no photographs, just artist and landscape meeting in real time. The 2Rivers Plein Air Painters, Kay Drew, Paula Baggett Edwards, Leah Foote, Kris Lee, Betty Lyles, Jane Olson, and Annalee Parker, work the local and regional terrain: riverbanks, fields, back roads, the quiet corners of this place we call home.
What makes plein air painting singular is this: seven painters can stand in the same field, under the same sky, and walk away with seven entirely different paintings. Light shifts. Attention wanders. Style asserts itself. The result is less a document of place than a record of seeing — each canvas a personal translation of a shared moment.
Come see how the same river looks through seven different eyes.
