Jennifer Pierstorff's The Growth Pattern Exhibit
Tue, Sep 01
|Downtown Artists Co-op | River Gallery
Growth isn't linear — it spirals, stalls, reveals itself in hindsight. This collection traces one artist's journey through grief, resilience, and transformation in faces, color, and abstract form. Not a story of arrival, but one still becoming.

About the event
Growth is rarely linear. It spirals, stalls, repeats itself, and often reveals its shape only in hindsight.
Created during a season of significant personal change, these works trace the emotional patterns that surfaced through grief, uncertainty, resilience, and transformation. Faces emerge, fragment, disappear, and return. Colors shift between tension and harmony. Abstract forms become maps of internal landscapes that were often easier to paint than explain.
Working intuitively across portraiture, abstraction, and mixed media, I found myself returning to the same themes in different forms: heartbreak and hope, vulnerability and strength, fragmentation and reconstruction. What began as individual pieces gradually revealed a larger pattern.
Together, these works form a visual record of adaptation. Not a story of arrival, but an ongoing process of becoming—where each challenge, insight, rupture, and recovery leaves its own mark on the pattern.
