About the event
The Nui style of Shibori dates to the early Edo period of Japan. There are other similar forms of stitched resist found throughout Southeast Asia.
Nui uses straight stitches to create a resist that makes a pattern on the material. Where the stitching is pulled tight, the dye is not able to enter the fiber. Patterns range from very simple to intricate. A great way to personalize clothing, home goods, quilting and other sewing projects.
No experience is necessary. All supplies are provided in this continuation of Shibori techniques.
